Rooms

Here at Stables we have a number of rooms which we use for different age groups. Here is some more information about each room as given by a member of staff from each room.

Baby Room

The baby room is situated opposite the main building, it is a purpose built unit for up to 9 babies. The staff ratios are 1:3 in the baby room. The baby room has a quiet relaxed atmosphere with a sleeping area with 3 cots and 3 rockers. In the baby unit we follow the Birth to Three guidance and staff maintain ongoing observations of each individual child to ensure we are providing for their needs.

Poppy Room & Buttercup Room

The children in the poppy and buttercup room work very closely together, as their ages range from 18mths to 3 years.

Our morning starts with a creative activity encouraging children to share and to work on their communication skills eg. play dough, shaving foam, painting, glueing etc.

Mid morning they go out for there daily exercise outside, where they get the chance to explore the garden and play on all the equipment with their friends. We have slides, bikes, scooters, sandpit, climbing frame any many more to keep them all active.

Afternoons consists of more fun activities for eg. music, dance, musical instruments, jigsaws, mobilo, lego construction and much more.

The children then have tea and prepare for home time.

A sleep area is available for them to recharge their batteries throughout the day.

Daisy Room

The Daisy Room is for the 3 year olds. It's here that we start to follow the Foundation Stage curriculum. We have toys available and accessible to the children throughout the day. Children are encouraged to choose from cards what they wish to play with. They are encouraged to share and play together and tidy up after themselves.

Children follow the same topics that the Bluebells follow but at a lower level. The children enjoy singing, dancing and creative activities. Our latest adventure was making a Guy Fawkes for bonfire night.

The ratio for the Daisy Room is 1 adult to 8 children.
