we are taking the preschool children to Park hall farm in Oswestry on the 12th of April and the 6th of May. ‘The farm’ is their current theme so this fits in perfectly. They will have the opportunity to milk a cow, feed lambs, groom ponies, watch pigs racing and have a ride on a tractor, as well as explore the huge play areas and bounce on the bouncy slide.
We will shortly be incubating our chicken eggs which is something we do every year, to enable the nursery children to watch the process of the egg hatching into a chick. All the children at nursery enjoy this experience, and we usually keep one or two of the chicks (with our fingers crossed that they turn out to be girls!).
Next week we have invited parents to come along to a forest school session. We will be running through all the safety rules, exploring, having an Easter egg hunt, cooking sausages on the fire and showing parents how to start a fire using a flint and steel. It should be lots of fun.
Later in April we will going on a train journey with preschool to coincide with the ‘travel’ theme. We will have fun in the quarry and a picnic lunch before returning on the train.
****Advanced notice**** We will be entering Wem carnival this year so please keep the first Saturday in September free. More details to follow.
